What is Popular Stacks?

Popular Stacks is a web service that analyzes web sites to detect the web stacks they are using. It identifies components such as CDNs, HTTP servers, cloud hosting platforms, web application frameworks, and CSS frameworks.

How does it work?

Popular Stacks analyzes web sites by using publicly available information only. It fetches the specified URL, examines HTTP response headers and HTML content, and detects components like CDNs, HTTP servers, cloud hosting platforms, web application frameworks, and CSS frameworks. It also uses IP addresses and domain names to detect hosting environments.

It doesn't detect my favorite component!

The preferred way is to change the open source code on GitHub yourself. Please read `README.md` and contribute a pull request to the config data files. You may suggest the addition using GitHub issue tracker too. This website uses the same config data as the Chrome Extension, so your contribution will help both.
